REVIEW OF “HIGH TEA: ANOTHER BRITISH COMEDY ” (OTTAWA FRINGE 2017)

James and Jamesy made their triumphal return to Ottawa with High Tea: Another British Comedy. How triumphal: there was a line up out of the door on their opening night…of people who already had tickets and wanted to get a good seat. The show wasn’t just sold out, it was well sold out. And for good reason: High Tea: Another British Comedy is comic mayhem at its eccentric madcap best.

High Tea: Another British Comedy is a rip-roaring full tilt run at the wonderful world of the imagination where the fourth wall is sometimes made of marshmallow. The story itself is straight forward enough, and begins with Jamesy preparing for his weekly tea with his friend James.

And from there it takes off into frolicking fun as, well, as the tea pot erupts and the world is flooded with tea, audience sharks appear and other characters (from the audience) are asked to climb aboard the good ship James and Jamesy for a side splitting hour of fun.

High Tea: Another British Comedy is fast paced fun from a tremendously talented duo who blend physical and surreal comedy for a super entertaining hour of, well, of a tea party done just about as right as rain.
