Third Wall Theatre Company Presents
An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein
By Shel Silverstein
Originally produced in New York City by Atlantic Theater Company, 2001-02
An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein is “adult” in the sense that it’s mature, rather than XXX. That said, it’s a raucous and ribald evening that’s farcically funny. An ensemble cast perform the numerous set pieces including rhyming street wise prostitutes, a leering guy at a bus stop who gets turned upside down by the woman he’s catcalling, and many more.
Silverstein himself was known for children’s books, though his writing range was wide and includes the number made famous by Johnny Cash, A Boy Named Sue.
Staged by Third Wall Theatre, winners of the Best Comedy Award at the 2003 Ottawa Fringe for this show, An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein is presented as part of the Fringe 20 Series, celebrating twenty years of the Fringe in Ottawa.
“…a raucous and ribald evening that’s farcically funny.”
The current show runs from Thursday, April 06 until Saturday, April 08, 2017 and is part of a double bill, which also features performances of The Root Of All Squares (written by Sterling Lynch, Sam Varteniuk, directed by Dave Dawson)
