The search for Mr. Right goes on: “Crossing Delancey” opens at OLT
September 14th, 2010 by Emma Godmere
Opening tonight and running until October 2nd, Crossing Delancey is Ottawa Little Theatre’s 98th season opener — and will be sure to make audiences smile.
The story follows Izzy, a gal just trying to make her way through late-1980s New York on her own steam — ’til her traditional grandmother, affectionately referred to as “Bubbie,” jumps in and tries to fix her granddaughter up with a nice Jewish boy.
Ottawa Tonite got the chance to check in with the cast and crew of the production — and even got a sneak peek performance of Izzy and her Bubbie coming head-to-head.
Dee Dee Butters, as Izzy, and Danielle Silverman, as Bubbie, chat about they brought their characters to life:
Crossing Delancey director, Chantale Plante, shares her perspective on the play and talks about her involvement with Ottawa Little Theatre:
And finally, we checked in with OLT marketing director John Muggleton, who filled us in on what’s happening this season at Canada’s longest-running community theatre:
Crossing Delancey runs from September 14 to October 2 at the Ottawa Little Theatre at 400 King Edward Ave. For more information and tickets, visit www.ottawalittletheatre.com.
